Wiezorek Celebrates Birthday
Wiezorek celebrated his birthday in a grand fashion at the Feb. 10, 2006, Fight Party show in the Atlanta Civic Center. He earned his ninth win over Mike “Boom Boom” Buchovich. Prior to this fight Buchovich was undefeated.

We saw a new and improved Weez this fight as he made short work of Buchkovich. Wiezorek worked his vastly improved striking and stayed on the offensive, working Buchkovich back to the cage. The fighters then took it to the mat, where Weez showed his submission prowess by securing and finishing a very tight guillotine choke. This is not the Weez that so many watched in the UFC and Euphoria. The new Weez is poised to make some waves and silence the critics in ‘06. ”

Wins in UFC Debut

Jonathan “Lock N’ Load” Wiezorek won his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debut match against Wade “Nightmare” Shipp. Wiezorek took care of business early enough to watch the highly anticipated bout between Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell that was two years in the making. Liddell defeated Ortiz by KO when he unleashed a devastating right/left/right that sent Ortiz to the canvas. Referee McCarthy quickly pulled Liddell off, stopping the bout at :38 seconds of round two.
defeated Shipp at 4:39 of first round by TKO. Early on in the match Shipp, who had been training with some K-1 kickboxers, used his knees and boxing skills against Wiezorek. In his characteristic aggressive charges, Wiezorek took several knees to the face. Shipp delivered knees to Lock N’ Load’s sternum and stomach area, as well as punches to his face.
Despite Shipp’s attempts to knock Wiezorek out, Wiezorek kept pushing the pace of the entire match. Wiezorek felt Shipp gassing out from his attacks so the 6′2″, 257 pound Wiezorek kept pressing his clinching game and attempting upper body takedowns on Shipp.
It was obvious that Shipp’s camp did not want him to grapple with Wiezorek. Shipp’s trainer, former King of the Cage Middleweight Champion Charlie Kohler, kept advising Shipp to “disengage” from Wiezorek’s clinch game. This was evident when Wiezorek attempted and missed a lateral drop takedown, pulling Shipp down on top of himself, from which Wiezorek quickly escaped.
 At about 4:00 of Round 1, Wiezorek secured a front headlock/guillotine hold on Shipp (6′4″, 232 lbs.). Using a left-leg heel trip against Shipp, Wiezorek took him down. Shipp attempted to stand back up and Wiezorek established a rear mount position and pressed Shipp’s torso to the canvas of the octagon while maintaining the rear hooks-in position. Wiezorek then began delivering left and right hook punches to Shipp’s head and the referee stopped the contest at 4:39 as Shipp was unable to defend himself.
UFC Commentator (and host of NBC’s “Fear Factor” show), Joe Rogan, complemented Wiezorek on being able to take the punishment that Shipp delivered.
“Pain is temporary, pride is forever,”
Wiezorek answered Rogan as he interviewed him for the +11,400 spectators present.
At the press conference later, Wiezorek joked to the audience that he wanted “to prove he did not have a glass chin.”
Having accomplished this milestone, Wiezorek looks forward to a little time off before resuming training. He is currently wrapping up his Spring Semester at college and hopes to maintain his 4.0 GPA in the Graduate Sports Medicine program at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga. He will work as an intern athletic trainer for the Atlanta Falcons in late summer.

Wiezorek to Make UFC Debut
Jonathan “Lock N’ Load” Wiezorek, the International Sport Combat Federation (ISCF) U.S. Super Heavyweight Champion, is ready to make his debut in Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) on April 2nd. He will face Wade Shipp of San Diego, California, in a preliminary match to the main fight card.
Shipp is a newcomer to the UFC as well. UFC matchmaker, Joe Silva, said that his intention is to introduce a couple of newcomers to vie to stay with the promotion. The winner of the debut match will then have a chance to establish himself among the best of the world’s heavyweight mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters.
Wiezorek, with a 5-0 professional MMA record, has defeated such notables as Dan “The Beast” Severn, John Dixson, and Jonathan Ivey. His defeat of Severn in 2001 earned him the Reality Fighting Sports (a.k.a. World Extreme Fighting) Super Heavyweight World Champion. His defeat of Dixson garnered the ISCF title. Wiezorek’s last two matches have totaled about a minute in fight time and both ended by choke submission.
Wiezorek says that he expects Shipp to be his most well-rounded opponent yet. “He will be extremely tough,” said Lock N’ Load. He continued, “Probably the most tenacious I have ever faced.”
His manager, James Corbett of Valdosta Martial Arts Center – Valdosta, Georgia, says that he hopes Wiezorek will do well in the match. “Jonathan is training smart for this fight. He is using the talent of a lot of accomplished trainers and fighters from around the south east to help prepare him.” Corbett continued, “There are many world class fighters right here in Georgia that are helping Wiezorek. Many of these; Foster, Headden, Griffin, just to name a few; are as deserving as Wiezorek of such a fight opportunity themselves.”
The event will be UFC 47 and held at Manadalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event will be available via Pay-Per-View over DirecTV, DISH, and cable.
Wiezorek is a 1997 Georgia State High School Wrestling Champion and a graduate of Valdosta State University’s rigorous Sport Medicine program. He is currently earning a Master’s Degree in Sports Medicine at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga. He is interested in exploring a full-time career as a professional fighter and also has future plans to earn a Ph.D. in Sports Medicine and teach on the university level.

The Greatest Upset In Mixed Martial Arts History!The greatest upset in mixed martial arts history occurred Saturday evening. ISCF East Coast Champion, Jonathan “Lock n Load” Wiezorek, of Valdosta Martial Arts Center, defeated Dan “The Beast” Severn for the new Reality Sports World Super Heavyweight title. Experts in the no-holds barred field were shocked when Wiezorek submitted Severn shortly into the second round.
This shock was because Wiezorek had a little known fight record of less than 10 fights despite his ownership of the notable ISCF - International Sport Combat Federations’ East Coast Super Heavyweight title (www.theiscf.com). Severn, a legend in the “No Holds Barred” sport, was the expected victor of the match given his 34 fights and Olympic medallist wrestling background.
The competitors’ entered the arena on a ramp to the 38 foot wide octagon lighted by a blazing pyrotechnic display. Wiezorek’s entrance was virtually silent, matching the audience’s appreciation for his unknown abilities. Severn entered to thunderous applause, saluting the crowd with his trademark “Beast” grimace.
Severn fairly dominated the match the first round beginning with an early takedown. Severn sank a deep key-lock from the full mount position. However, was unable to submit Wiezorek due to his flexibility and determination. A few punches were exchanged after Wiezorek escaped Severn’s superior position. Severn again took Wiezorek down but was quickly reversed by Wiezorek.
The second round began to a flurry of punches and a failed takedown attempt by Severn. Wiezorek sprawled and gained control of Severn’s head, facedown, then landed devastating knees to cripple the legendary fighter.
Severn attempted to escape, rolling face-up. Wiezorek immediately moved to a side control position and then mounted Severn. Wiezorek secured Severn’s head and then used his chest to smother and submit the former champion. Severn signaled his submission by tapping Wiezorek’s back.
World Extreme Fighting (WEF) promoter, Jamie Levine, awarded Wiezorek the World Title Belt. Wiezorek took the spotlight and then said to the worldwide audience, “I respect Mr. Severn greatly, thanks to Mr. Levine for the opportunity, thanks to my trainer, Sensei James Corbett, my training partners and my family for their support”.
This contest occurred live to an international pay per view audience, “Cage Fight: Redemption in the Valley” which was WEF’s tenth major event. The venue for the event was the Civic Center in Wheeling, West Virginia. Having beaten the icon that defeated the likes of Ken Shamrock, Tank Abbott, Oleg Taktarov, Pat Miletech and many others, Wiezorek now looks to the future. WEF Promoter Levine had numbers of calls shortly after the fight requesting to be considered to fight “Lock n Load” for his first title defense.
His trainer and owner of Valdosta Martial Arts Center, James Corbett, commented, “Wiezorek won this fight in part due to his aggressive composure in the ring.” Severn was obviously shocked when the first round began to Wiezorek charging in, taking the fight to the Ultimate Fighting Championship Triple Crown winner. Severn probably planned on a “nobody” being very tentative and cautious. But,
Jonathan didn’t take the ring name “Lock n Load” because he thought it sounded nice.”
Corbett added, “We were overwhelmed with congratulations from everyone. We continually had well renowned fighters and coaches say that nobody expected this to happen. We were quick to tell them that we expected this because of our appreciation of Jonathan’s skills.”
The rules for the contest were “No Holds Barred” in which the fighters can use striking, grappling, and submission techniques from various martial arts.
Wiezorek, a former State Champion Lowndes High School wrestler, is a Sports Medicine Major at VSU with a 4.0 G.P.A. He is working on this degree as a pre-med student with hopes of being an Orthopedist. This fight is the opportunity of a lifetime for him, but he says, “School comes first.” He also says that he wants to be a medical doctor so he can help people.
Wiezorek v. JJ Wilson
Wiezorek reversed a takedown by Wilson and took an initial mount, working ground and pound. Killa makes attempt to escape and lands in a very bad position - with Wiezorek in a rear mount. The referee breaks them and restarts because the crowd was so loud he couldn’t hear Killa’s verbal submission. Then, Weez mounts and grounds and pounds again. Killa attempts to escape again and is caught in a rear naked choke, refuses to tap, and is choked out until ref stoppage.
