VMAC Fighter Makes Weight in Puerto Rico
July 15, 2010 by Sensei
VMAC fighter, Jonpaul Anes (right), is set to compete at home in Puerto Rico tomorrow. Jonpaul will be facing Anthony Bacotiames in the Boqueron, Puerto Rico, event.
Anes is a talented fighter who has been training at VMAC for several months. Disappointed, he was unable to compete in Bud Light’s Summer Heat because of work commitments at Moody Air Force Base. So, he is happy to have a match now in this event. Anes is a well-rounded and tenacious fighter. Anes, 5′8 tall, is listed by mixedmartialarts.com as having a 0-1 record.
Bacotiames (on left above) is 0-1 currently and stands 5′7 tall. He is mainly a jujitsu-style fighter.
At the weigh-in today, pictured above, Bacotiames did not make weight. Anes, who weighed in at the agreed 146, gave Bacotiames 3 pounds along with the 2 pound allowance. So, Bacotiames weighed in at 151.
The event is being promoted by Orlando “Tiki” Sanchez and Anibal “Iche” Gonzalez. The promoters are members of the Caribbean Top Team.
