The Ringworm to Make Pro Debut

June 8, 2010 by Sensei

Tony “The Ringworm” Ritter is moving out of the amateur ranks to become a professional mixed martial arts fighter at Bud Light’s Summer Heat.  His last outing at Winter Heat saw him win the Heat Light Heavyweight title belt against Hamza Abdul-Mutalib, aka, “The Guardian of Islam.”

The Ringworm is set to face MMA veteran Wayne Music of Waycross.  Wayne, a USAR special forces veteran, has a “never say die” attitude and, while very respectful, was quick to agree to enter the cage with Ritter.  Music has fought some of the stiffest professional competition in the South Georgia area and is always happy to enter the cage for one of his favorite recreational activities, which is fisticuffs.

The two fighters make for an interesting contrast of styles.  Ritter is more a polished kickboxer, picking distant shots with his incredibly long reach.  Music, on the other hand, is more a brawler in terms of striking and brings the experience of a number of “toughman” style matches with him.  Music is an accomplished wrestler with a nasty double leg while Ritter is more at home working jiu-jitsu submissions from his back.

Whichever way the fight flows, the fans will see skilled technicians plying their trade at Bud Light’s Summer Heat.  Follows is a video of one of Ritter’s amateur matches in Atlanta.
