Valdosta High School Wildcats are known world-wide for the football team. Their wrestling, basketball, and other sports teams are widely renowned also. However, one Valdosta High School Wildcat is on a different kind of team. Kelly McCarthy, Valdosta High School Senior, is a member of the Valdosta Martial Arts Fight Team. Kelly will make his second appearance in the cage here in Valdosta at Bud Light’s Winter Heat.

Kelly will face Lee Hendrix. Hendrix, 32 years old, trains at Performance Martial Arts with Mr. Mitchell Church. The gritty Hendrix is as strong as the bulldogs that he raises. Hendrix’s record stands at 0-1 after a tough loss in the third round at his December fight debut.

McCarthy’s last appearance in Valdosta resulted in a win by TKO at Bud Light’s Summer Heat. He knocked out his opponent with an uppercut in the third round. Since then, he won another fight in Griffin, Georgia, by knockout. He has a record of 2-2.
